Executive Summary

Zorana Mijic is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware. Prof. Mijic’s research focuses on seismic site response, liquefaction and its effects on structures, coastal and urban flooding, and compound hazards in a changing climate. An overarching goal of her research is to reduce the vulnerability of infrastructure and communities by advancing the state of knowledge and practice in geohazards engineering through cutting-edge research tools and methods in physical experimentation, field investigation and monitoring, data collection and analytics, and numerical modeling. Prof. Mijic has authored journal and conference papers and reports for the federal and state governments. She currently serves as the Secretary of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute’s Public Policy and Advocacy Committee.
